At the Adams County Farmers’ Market Association (ACFMA), we believe that access to locally grown food should not be determined by income. When you support our organization you help lower economic barriers for those in need, ensuring that every family can fill their market basket with the same healthy, fresh foods as those we feed our families.
Farmers markets are a vital part of our agribusiness and food system fabric:
• they support agricultural producers that help drive the local economy;
• they support community, economic and business development goals;
• markets provide access to fresh, nutritious foods for all;
• and farmers’ markets cultivates a positive, inclusive community space.
Corporate sponsorships support the cornerstone of ACFMA programs and allow our ability to manage over nine wellness/nutrition programs at the market. Not only do these programs fulfill vital needs in our community, they also drive food access benefits to over 900 residents including seniors and families with children.
Since launching our first program in 2011, ACFMA in collaboration with local community partners have provided low-income families more than $130,000 in combined benefits. And from a variety of food program recipients, we felt this testimonial summed it up best. “When financial troubles first hit me, I cut back on everything. One is left with little that resembles what we think of an American life, and over time the stresses began to weigh me down. The simple pleasure of shopping at the market and talking to the farmers and other familiar faces became the highlight of my weeks. Being able to shop at the market, where I can enrich the local economy by getting fresh produce for my family, allows me to feel that my difficulties don’t keep me from contributing.”
ACFMA is not a large member based non-profit. But a small organization that delivers a huge impact to many families that need help putting nutritious food on the table. Your contribution is very important to us and provides us the opportunity to fulfill our mission. As you plan your year-end giving, please consider becoming a sponsorship to support the continuation of vital market services and community-building programs. Whatever level is best suited to your company’s giving goals we are truly grateful for the continued support.
With thanks and Happy Holidays!
