EBT/Food Assistance Programs
The Adams County Farmers’ Market Association believes that fresh, local and healthy food should be available to all people, regardless of their means. We work to lower the barriers to food access that low-income families and individuals face. By providing additional support for multiple nutrition assistance programs, we make fresh food more accessible to people from all walks of life. Read below for more details on each program.
- SNAP/EBT Benefits: To use your SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) card, go to the main market information tent, tell the staff how much money you would like to spend, and they will swipe your EBT card for the amount requested. You are then given $1 tokens in the requested amount. Find out if you qualify to receive, SNAP.
- Double Dollars Program for SNAP: The Market has increased it SNAP Double Dollars in 2017. We now can match up to $15 daily in SNAP benefits. So for $15 in SNAP benefits, you receive $30 in market tokens to shop for eligible foods at the market. The Double Dollars program is generously supported by: Wellspan Health, Healthy Adams County, Gettysburg Hospital Foundation and the Adams County Food Policy Council.
- FMNP and SFMNP Vouchers: You may use your FMNP/SFMNP vouchers with approved growers at the market. Don’t forget to ask about the FMNP Dollar Matching program! Each $5 voucher is matched with an additional $5 in market tokens to shop for additional fresh fruits and vegetables.
- Healthy Options: ACFMA partners with Healthy Adams County and its affiliate the Adams County Food Policy Council to support Healthy Options. This food voucher program enables over 70 families to shop for fresh foods at the market and participating in a variety of educational programs. Read more about the positive impact of this program.
